Inspirational Thoughts From Previous Contestants
“My life has changed tremendously since the WOW competition. I enjoy my friendships, and love the exercise classes. I love my Saturday activities- love the different mixtures, and my own clothing definitely hanging off me! People are noticing the difference, they even ask for advice on how to lose weight. Its almost as if I had a mind change about what is important, and I realized I need to want to change for myself), before I can be helpful to others. I find the normal things that used to get to me is not that important anymore. I’ve learned to shake of negativity quickly. I am an adult, and I cannot be spoonfed anymore, I need to put effort in if I want to change, and that’s why I want to make this work. Once again to everyone who have put in effort to make a success out of this program,I want to say THANK YOU!”
- Carmen Bell (had to paraphrase a bit, it was super long)
“Since starting this journey I have become someone totally different, yet someone I truly feel is the ‘real me’. I’m now consumed with excitement and passion about reaching my goal weight and continuing on my life-long journey.
Each day my desire to share with others how wonderful being healthier and happier feels grows stronger. I want so badly to empower others into realising that if “I can do this, then they can too” and I have so many ideas on how I can “pay it forward”. I have gained so much from this golden opportunity gifted to me by God and the Cayman Heart Fund and everyday I feel like I’m already a winner!”
- Glenda Dilbert- Davis
“I too have come to realize this “competition” (it seems almost rude to call it that now) is about so much more than losing weight! It’s about changing mind body and even the soul! I have been transformed from a stressed out, no time to think, fast food eating, sloth like maniac to a relaxed, time well managed, healthy eating exercising fiend! I have begun to think about what exercise activities I will be continuing after this 16 weeks is over and so far the only prerequisite is that it must be early in the morning before my brain has time to think about what I am doing! “
- Penni Bell
“This morning’s walk was so invigorating with cool breezes and fresh air – I really look forward to Sunday mornings. The rest of this day has promises of friendship and fun as does tomorrow’s BS class.”
- Maggie Buchanan
