Cayman Music School Puts on a Grand Christmas Concert
For the Cayman Heart Fund
The Cayman Heart Fund (CHF) & The Cayman Music School are riding high after a triumphant Classical Christmas Music Concert at the Harquail Theatre on December 3rd. It was an amazing concert with performances by the gifted students & faculty of the music school. The Cayman Music School made it a memorable evening for hundreds of attendees by ensuring that the performances were superior. The group was honoured by the Premier McKeeva Bush singing at the event and admitting that he too had special musical training when growing up. It is truly an honour to realize that Cayman has so many gifted individuals – we are truly blessed. “Quote from Suzy Soto, Chair Emeritus of the Cayman Heart Fund” Cayman Heart Fund is thankful to the Cayman Music School, the Honourable Premier for his support, all our valuable sponsors, Flipside Productions and Narayana Cayman Medical Centre and University for the amazing gifts from Gene Thompson & Hari Chandi.
5 Heart Surgeries Donated by Gene Thompson & Hari Chandi at the concert on behalf of Narayana Cayman Medical Centre and University:
To make the event even more remarkable, on behalf of Narayana Cayman Medical Centre and University, Hari Chandi of Magnum Jewellers and Gene Thompson of Thompson Development announced that they would donate 5 heart surgeries in India which includes free airfare for the child & accommodating family member(s)! On the stage to accept this gift were Ms. Suzy Soto, Dr. Sook Yin and Dr. Senthil Kumar, all Directors of CHF. The CHF extends its heartfelt gratitude to Gene Thompson, & Hari Chandi for this wonderful Christmas gift.
Cayman Heart Fund is a non-profit, non-governmental, charitable organization which was established to strengthen Cayman’s health. CHF is extremely pleased that 5 needy recipients were given such a precious gift.
Thank you to Dr. R. Senthilkumar for his hard work in organizing this wonderful concert with the music school. This concert definitely raised our spirits and got everyone into the Christmas mood. “Quote from Dr. Sook Yin, Director of the Cayman Heart Fund”

* Automated External Defibrillator Appeal

August 22nd, 2011

All incidents of sudden cardiac arrest occur in the work place or at home – far away from hospitals and medical facilities.  It is vitally important to administer treatment quickly because a person’s chance of survival drops 10% for every minute that passes between cardiac arrest and getting the heart restarted.

That’s where the AED machine comes in. An AED machine (Automated External Defibrillator) is a portable machine that analyses the heartbeat and can restart it, by administering a brief, controlled electrical shock. The AED machine is “user- friendly” to operate and guides the user through the necessary stages to administer the correct treatment to the sufferer.

Here is a list of  locations where AED machines can be found in case of an emergency & pictures of training provided by St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine staff:
